Name: Miguel Perez
Previous/Current Occupation: Student
Church: St.Mary’s Catholic Center
Major and classification: 5th Year Senior Industrial Distribution Major
Any passions/interests?: I love running and playing outdoor sports. I am also currently trying to learn how to play a couple of instruments. I love to hang out with friends and take road trips!
How did you become a volunteer/why are you involved?
I felt a calling for this ministry after the Summer of 2011. I used to live close to PP and would always drive by and see people holding up signs advocating life. I never really asked myself what the people were out there for until I did my research. I’m a sidewalk counselor because I’m a strong believer that PP in our community will soon close down. Human life is in danger and it needs to be defended by courageous people.
Why you are pro life (is there a story here?):
I became pro-life and more aware of this movement after a friend suffered through a miscarriage and needed help and support along the way. This allowed me to stop and think about how valuable a human life is and how immoral and unethical it is to put a stop to it. I am pro-life because this is the right thing to do.
Any additional thoughts (comments):
I would like to invite my brothers and sisters, who feel a calling to this ministry, to join me on the sidewalk to speak up for the unborn and defend human rights. Do not be afraid and have hope that our mission will be accomplished if we faith.
