Name: Terrie Lipscomb

Previous/Current Occupation: I have been married for 30 years and have been a fulltime homemaker while raising our 10 children
Church: St. Joseph
Any passions/interests?: My husband and children are my passion.  I am involved in many things in our parish.  My most loved are co-coordinating the Perpetual Adoration Chapel (25 yrs) and volunteering at St. Joseph Catholic School were we have 5 children currently enrolled.

How did you become a volunteer/why are you involved? I clearly remember when it was announced that PP was to be opening in BCS!  The reality of abortion was coming too close to home.  I was homeschooling our children at that time. We began praying at the projected sight as the building was being constructed. I wanted my children to know that all life is sacred.  I knew that just praying on the sidewalk was not enough.  When my youngest child started school, I became more available to train to become a sidewalk counselor. I wanted to know how to encourage the women walking into the clinic. By attending the training I became more confident in talking to these women and letting them know that they do have other options.  I want her to know that in BCS we have many resources and we care deeply about not only the child but the mother as well.

Why you are pro life (is there a story here?): First of all as being a Catholic, our Faith tells us that all life is sacred, from conception to natural death.  Being pro-life comes very natural to me.  Raising a large family is counter cultural!  Accepting each child as God chose to send us was difficult at times. People continually ask us why! We know that our children are a gift from God and we cannot take anything else with us to heaven but them. We have been so blessed...
