How did you become a volunteer? I first found out what abortion was during the 1996 presidential race between Bill Clinton and Bob Dole. I asked my mom what it was and she told me. From then on I was always willing to argue with anyone who was willing. When I graduated high school and was able to vote I became active through emails, donations, and calling my representatives. I heard about 40 Days For Life when I was at A&M. I called Bobby Reynoso and said I wanted to volunteer. We met up and he gave me a tour of the Coalition for Life and told me about the different things they did. Then he took me in front of the Planned Parenthood next door. When I first walked out on that sidewalk with Bobby I was scared. I thought to myself, “So this is where it happens.” They said there were two ways to volunteer. Stand and pray or being a counselor. Being a counselor seemed more hardcore to me so I told Bobby that was what I wanted to do. I went to a counselor training course at the Coalition for Life. Bobby came with me on my first day of counseling outside Planned Parenthood. He did some counseling and showed me how it was done. I was terrified but I overcame my fears. The fear is still there and will always be there but I don’t let that keep me from doing what needs to be done. If there is any cause that God is behind it is the pro-life cause.
Why are you involved? Abortion is the biggest injustice of our time. The value of EVERY human life is tarnished by our acceptance of abortion. It must be stopped and the value of human life restored.
